Nancy O'Dell's professional career started in Myrtle Beach South Carolina as an anchor and reporter for news for WPDE-TV. Later, she worked at WCBD as a morning anchor and crime reporter. The stories she reported in Charleston regarding the police's tolerance in DUI cases prompted a State Law Enforcement Division to look into the matter. It led to the state government imposing more stringent regulations in these cases. Ms. O'Dell received the Best Report of the Media Award South Carolina by the Associated Press. O'Dell's work in Charleston was the reason she joined as a co-anchor, reporter and NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before becoming a part of Access Hollywood she was a co-anchor on weekdays as well as the weekend anchor for NBC. O'Dell, as well as being the anchor of Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has co-hosted a variety of pre-show arrivals for The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. Co-hosted also The Miss USA pageant as well as the Miss USA pageant and the Miss Universe pageant.
